Who is Barbiel and who are Barbiel?
Barbiel is an angel, a guardian of children, which is why we have named our Family Help Society, for families in these times indeed need a Barbiel. Our society’s mission is to help the neediest members of families – children and the elderly. The main task of ours is to offer professional support to parents, when they are unable to do so themselves due to their numerous obligations, to organise their child’s time creatively so that the child may grow up happily and in self-fulfilment into an adult ready for what tomorrow will bring. OUR PROGRAMME
Our work with children includes:
• education and care for pre-school and school-aged children (up to age 12);
• our services available 24 hours a day;
• bilingual communication with children (parallel education in two languages – in Croatian and: English, Italian, German or French);
• education in nature (nature classes/workshops in woods, meadows, lakeside, riverside);
• transportation of children (child is driven from any to any location in our own vehicle);
• help with school tasks (how to do the homework, study and adopt study habits);
• directing children towards individual or team sports (stretching exercises, fitness exercises, roller-skating, running, cycling, ice-skating, etc.) and awareness-raising about the importance of exercise for future health;
• awareness-raising about the importance of general culture and culture in general (visits to museums, galleries, exhibitions, theatre, learning about the place where they live …);
• organisation of and animation at children’s birthday parties at home or in nature;
• organisation of all kinds of creative workshops for children;
• organisation of educational workshops for children.
Our work with the elderly includes:
• delivery of groceries and home supplies;
• transportation;
• payment of bills;
• keeping them creative company.
